Before you watch any of the debut episodes of this season’s dramas, give this one a try first! It’s a much better choice to start you off than say Sexy Voice and Robo (which I have a feeling will turn into Kuitan). “The Proper Way to play with Her” is a very short single-episode drama based on the script that won the 2006 TV Asahi contest for new scenario writers.
You don’t even need a lot of convincing. First, the synopsis sounds very much like it’s taken directly from a shoujo manga. That may be a turn off for some, but that’s what actually got me interested. Second, for you girls out there, you won’t be disappointed, ahem. For the guys, I don’t get what’s the deal with Toda Erika but Kurokawa Tomoka seems to have the same effect on them. And last but not least, I sort of missed the “first prize” part when I first read the synopsis…but yes, that’s a guarantee that this will have high quality writing.
As expected, the strength of this drama doesn’t lie on fancy effects or breathtaking cinematography. That’s why I don’t have a lot of interesting screenshots, except for the actors’ faces. It’s sort of like Sassy Girl minus all the violence and quirky humor. I also love the performance given by the two main leads. Yuna may seem too bitchy at first, but I think that’s the charm about her character. It perfectly complements the quiet and push-over personality of Kyouji. My favorite scene…well…since it’s too short, I could probably say, that the whole 40 or so minutes are so compact and full of merits…but, I guess, if I have to pick…the climax when Yuna confronted Kyouji during their lunchbreak is my favorite of all. I was gripping my pillow tightly…oh, wow…that was intense. I wish they turned it into a two hour movie or something. Man….I want more!!!! So this is how it feels to be left hanging by a moment.

Mizushima Hiro, I LOVE YOU!
I really liked Mizushima Hiro here. That’s one of main reasons why I started watching Hana Kimi (him and Oguri Shun) and I loved him even more in Hana Kimi! Haha, a complete 180 from his role here. And he’s so cute too!!! I can’t wait to see more stuff with him. As for Kurokawa Tomoka, I still don’t really like her. Didn’t like her in Conan with Oguri Shun, didn’t like her here.
Thanks so much for recommending! I just finished this now and I think it was just the best 50 mins of my life hahahaha I’m glad Yuna redeemed herself in the end. and Hiro was just…. kyaaaaa~ I love him so much. I’m gonna watch all the other doramas that you rated A/A+!!!
^That’s not a good idea. But I’m glad you liked this one.
am i really the only one who thought yuna was nice in the end? hahahaha
well, it’s not that bad at all. i’m happy that it ran only for 45 minutes. i thought the story isn’t original, i mean the concept, because of it’s sassy girl attitude. i hate yuna. (good thing she was played by not any of my fave idols.) i’ve wished that hiro would end up with another girl, but as predicted, he still chose her. anyways, i wouldn’t want this SP to run longer,i believe it’s gonna turn to be sassy girl 2.0 if that happens
how can you play those files???I mean the srt. and torrent…
You don’t play a torrent; you use it to download the file you want. As for the subtitle, you can play it a hundred different ways. Google is the answer to all your questions.
there’s an english song in this movie,,after the scene on the roof when they’re talking bout going to hawaii…anyone can tell me wad song is that…so curious…thx
KT Tunstall’s Suddenly I See?
Why you guys hating on Kurokawa Tomoka?
From what you guys have seen she may not be that great, but if you guys watch Ame To Yume no Ato ni, I’m definitely sure you will all change your mind. That was the first drama I saw from her and she was awesome at that. Reminded me of Sawajiri Erika’s personality in 1 Litre of Tears … optimistic and strong. She was the first reason why I watched this show to begin with … then glad I did to discover Mizushima Hiro.
