I want another Hyung-tae!

So here I was watching the last 2 episodes of Get Karl! Oh Soo-jung (they’re out by the way, great job WITH S2 for another completed project!) and Man Soo is starting to get on my nerves, not just the character but the actor, Oh Ji Oh, himself. All of a sudden, Hyung-tae, the male protagonist of 9 end 2 Outs, popped out into my mind. “Oh why can’t I have another Hyung Tae (Lee Jung Jin)?” I lamented.

Before I go into total Lee Jung Jin homage, I have to come clean first. About 2-3 years ago, a drama entitled, Love Story in Harvard, was released starring Kim Rae Won, Kim Tae Hee and the great Lee Jung Jin. Well, he wasn’t used to be “great” in my book. In fact (and this I say with complete embarrassment), if you dig around the the LSIH at d-a, you’ll find a couple of posts of mine condemning LJJ for his awful-nail-scratching-on-a-chalkboard English. Whenever someone brings up LSIH, I can’t help but repeatedly put down this actor. Now you see how I horrible I am? Oh irony, damn you.

Anyhow, despite 9 End 2 Outs having a weak ending, I would recommend it to anyone who’s looking for real chemistry between the main leads. And yes, I cannot enunciate it enough: Lee Jung Jin totally pwns this drama! (no, I don’t play Warcraft, nor am I a gaming otaku, but I hope that delivers my point).

This reminds me, I didn’t write a 9 End 2 Outs review yet, did I? Oh noes!!!!

If you’re given a choice to watch only one drama between Get Karl! Oh Soo-jung and 9 End 2 Outs, pick the latter and you’ll be making the right choice.

As for Oh Ji Oh, I don’t think he’ll ever make a turn around (like how Lee Jung Jin gave me the ‘in-your-face’), so I can safely say…What a terrible actor! Never did I feel any attraction to him throughout the entire drama. Cringe. Cringe. Cringe. *shakes head with disappointment*

Uhm Jung Hwa is the reason I’m still here.

Note to self: Must write review for 9 End 2 Outs.

So you don’t like OJH here? :)
I haven’t finished Oh Karl yet, but up to 8th episode, I’ve already losing my patience.
I hate ( OK, hate is a strong word ) the characters! Karl or Soo Jung are really got on my nerves. That’s why I’m not feeling completely miss it when I haven’t get the rest of the episodes.

Anyway…….I agree with you about Hyung Tae! OH, I didn’t have any expectation when I started to watch 9 ends, but girl, I love Hyung Tae’s character! I wish I can have a male bestfriend like him ( not necessarily become lover afterwards…).

hope u can make a review of 9e2o, i;m curious on your take on this drama.

I have a question… I want to have that dokidoki feeling… Can i get that with 9 end 2 Outs? thanks!

lol…hahaha…I dunno…Does Lee Jung Jin do it for you? jk ;)
The last kdrama I could remember that gave me the doki doki feeling is Soulmate. As for jdrama, the last one is Bara no nai Hanaya. From the previous season (or is it two seasons ago?) was Hotaru no Hikari. 9 End 2 Outs is a fun drama to watch because of the bantering and close-knit relationship between the main leads, but i didn’t really have any “skip-a-beat” or “kilig” effect on me. Who knows…we’re different. It might help if you give me a baseline example.

Well, I guess that Kdrama is the only one I can buy at the moment from the media pirates. Kdrama fever has receded in the Phil and the only things you can buy from the pirates are the kdramas either already shown or those currently airing in the local channels. It has been a long time since I got to view a Kdrama.

As for my ren-ai yardstick, I get to say that I like something like “Pride” Jdrama. In a more general sense, maybe I am more inclined to those office romance Japanese dramas. Hehehe.

Well since you said bantering, I guess thats OK, great even. I like it when Koreans get noisy. HAHAHAHA. Strangely enough, my Japanese exchange student friend also shares the same opinion. I just hope that translations are superb or just normal. I can understand somewhat Japanese so bad subs aren’t much of a problem. But Korean dramas (from media pirates) here in the Phil have almost always bad subs that I just cry when I see it.

How can I forget Pride. That’s my first ever Kimutaku drama…you remember the first episode and the set-up they did to get Yuko’s number/email add…Right after Kimutaku got “beaten up” , and was holding up his cel…there was a short pause and they stared at each other and then suddenly Kimutaku did his signature “flickering” grin…right at that moment, another Kimutaku fan was born. hakhakhak. I’m sure you have another scene on mind though.
For 9 End 2 outs, I just want to warn you about the supporting actor…I don’t think it’s the kind of loud you would wanna watch.

Then, there’s nothing more to ruin…disappointing ending, actually. I don’t think it’s your fault as it wasn’t really clarified in the drama.
So, in other words..I don’t know too ^_^

I kind of assumed it was Hyung tae. hehe.
