Ayaka’s “Okaeri” – The only good thing in Zettai Kareshi

Ayaka’s Okaeri is my second favorite theme song this season. I might be a tad harsh stating that the song is the only good thing about Zettai Kareshi, so to twick that a bit, I’ll say the song is the most likeable part in the drama. I’m already at the 6th episode but Izawa Riiko (Aibu Saki) still hasn’t won me over. The worse part here is not indifference but direct dislike on her character. I have abandoned the manga since the first volume so I’m not even sure if the story is leaning on a Night-Riko or Soshi-Riko love team… The truth is I don’t even give a damn. I feel more amused watching Ishihara Satomi in Puzzle, and that’s not even an A-Rated drama, or B-rated. I really hate the direction they are taking with this drama. I already feel stressed out remembering the episodes while writing this post.

First, what kind of woman will fall for Nighto-kun? A stupid woman, for sure. Like Izawa Riko, for instance. After all, Night represents all her standards for a perfect boyfriend, no? So why, tell me please, is she treating him like dirt if he is indeed her “Zettai Kareshi”?

Second, I don’t blame Riko (and I still hate her character). I don’t feel an ounce of attraction for Night and Hayami Mokomichi. If this is not inside a drama bubble, one look at this guy and I’ll be dragging him to a mental hospital – immediately. Frickin’ weird robot. Oh, but his macho poses are funny. The only funny, never-gets-old joke in the drama.

Third, do not tell me, we’ll be having cream puffs all the way to the 10th episode? Good thing though, Soshi (Mizushima Hiro) is slowly getting over his cream puffs infatuation and starting to notice Riko for the first time. He and Namikiri-san are the only characters I like in this drama.

Do I think there is chance for this drama to resurrect itself? I seriously have no hope but I will continue watching it till the end.

I thank this drama for introducing me to ayaka’s Okaeri. The ending video cheers me up after watching each godawful episode.

Uhmm, I am a sucker for shoujo stories and a shoujo story from Yuu Watase-sensei is cryptonite. So, to answer your rhetorical question. The manga is way way different from the drama. It (the dorama) really did not follow anything from the manga besides the character names.
Shoujo manga is doki-doki filled right right off the bat. But here, I think they tackled the issue of a robot gaining emotions thing rather than the girl who bought the robot falling head over heals for an inanimate object.

This drama really messed up the love diagram/ relationship the manga canon presented. Well that is all I can say without spoiling everything much.

Well here Knight/Night is a work in progress. But in the manga he is the “zettai kareshi”. I dunno that is just my impression.

Finally! And I thought I was the only weirdass around who disliked Riiko and Night, and thinks the only good thing about it is Okaeri. It’s sad that the very two characters that the story is centralised on, get on my nerves so much. I feel sorely tempted to turn off the player each and every time Riiku makes one of her exagarrated grimaces, pouts, or talks about cream puffs (yea, they just go on and on and on about cream puffs -_-). She is just too shallow, bossy and hyper and NOT gentle on the eyes at all.

And as for Night, although it is understandable that this is the role he is supposed to play, I shudder thinking what it would be like to have a boyfriend like him. Although, he’s getting better. Thank God, Soshi is there to save the day! Funny, charismatic, comfortable as a warm summer day breeze.

I loved this drama. It wasn’t amazing TV by a long shot but I found myself in fits of laughter more than a few times. It was a nice break from the intensity of last friends!

Hmm…well, i think what you are saying about Night is kinda…harsh. Well yes, e way he acts robotic is kinda irritating and annoying but tink, if he doesnt act or behave like a robot? Tis show woudnt realli be tat funni, or annoyingly addictive. It’s jz Night that attracts mii to watch further on, jz to see the wae cute and innocent pure way he treats Riiko. Umm…tat’s it now, I guess. No offence or anithing if my comment is harsh somewhat. It’s jz a personal opinion. Dun take it to heart.
