So is this the slow season?

Credit: shannonwilliamsphotography.com

It’s Thursday night here, just finished the third episode of Seigi no Mikata (put it in your watch list, if you haven’t!), and I have a four-day long weekend that starts tomorrow! I’ve been working a little over than a month, and I already had two four-day-long weekends. Sweet! I don’t understand though why we also get the Friday off along with Monday which is the STAT holiday (BC day on Monday). It also looks like I have two more three-day long weekends coming up in the middle of August. I wonder if this is customary in most Accounting firms during the slow season? Mann, we get a lof of day-offs. Maybe, this is like the reimbursement for the overtime we have to put in during the busy season.

“But, what a fool I’ll be complaining now…”

A procrastinated post

I’m officially one month in my job and oh yah, I saw The Dark Knight last weekend. Before I bore you to death about my JOB, let’s talk about the number one movie this summer.

Is it worth all the fuss it is getting? Heck, I can’t even begin how frickin good it is. At first I was one of those girls who if you asked to go see Batman with, I won’t laugh…I’ll snicker. Batman. Tun-dun-dun-dun, Batman? Hak Hak Hak (That’s both my fangirl laugh and my snicker laugh). But this time, having seen the abnormally high imdb rating, my sis didn’t need to drag me to the theaters.

Unfortunately, we had problems convincing our other girlfriends. You can just insert my hypothetical reaction in place of what they told us when we tried to invite them to the Batman movie. Girls, how can I convince you that it is really that good? Perhaps, a final show of respect for Heath Ledger? Ah, it still breaks my heart that Ledger isn’t with us anymore (it’s like Rico Yan all over again). What more, his Joker is phenomenal. Most of the memorable lines were spoken by the Joker. I’m getting giddy over here just reminiscing about the movie. Love it love it love it.

One more love today is that my dream car has finally arrived from Japan.

Zettai Kareshi [END]

I’ve been writing and deleting every word I typed during this past 15 minutes, because I can’t easily explain what had just happen to me in the last episode of Zettai Kareshi.

A love and hate relationship.

My second week at work just ended. Now, it’s pretty much a love and hate relationship.

Love

The dual monitor set-up is sooo cool. In the office, we have a laptop and a flat screen monitor connected together. The first time I dragged a window to the other screen, my lips formed into a delighted “Oh!” (Gosh, I’m such an ignoramus. In my defense, I’ve known about dual monitors but I had no idea all you need is a cable to set it up). Today, I went to the computer shop and bought a DVI-to-VGA connector. I stole my sister’s extra Sony monitor, and now I have my own dual-monitor set up (see pic above). I can watch a drama that doesn’t need my full attention on one screen while I fill up my CASB registration on the other screen. Hehehe, talk about multi-tasking. Matt (co-newbie) is so excited that we can start on CASB this fall. His friends at KPMG were not allowed to start the modules this year. The kid is so sickeningly enthusiastic about it…oopps, better switch to hate mode now…

What the world needs is an Asakura Keita

Kimura Takuya, Fukatsu Eri

Change went into a filler dive right after I professed my love for it, and when I was so sure that it will continue to a downhill direction, Episode 7 pulled it back to the surface and Episode 8 delivered a high dose of humor and some good ol’ fluffy but feel-good moments.

Spotlight: Ichihara Hayato (市原隼人)

My shameful infatuation is nay a month old, but man, I have to do this or else I’m going to explode. Ichihara Hayato was the little kid in the uber popular All About Lily Chou Chou, declared as one of the best/artistic Japanese films ever created. I was half asleep when I watched it so I’ll never know if it was really that great. Actually, I downloaded it because of its outstanding reviews. I thought watching the film will make me look smarter, sadly I didn’t get it. I immediately put him under the “beautiful kids” category, but after that no more. Four years later, I saw him again on screen playing the delinquent leader in this spring drama, ROOKIES. Now at 21 years of age, his slit-shaped eyes became more prominent, and I was glad to know his eyebrow plucker is of higher quality than mine. I learned after skimming his wiki page, that he is indeed Yuichi from Lily Chou Chou. The only drama I have seen him in is Long Love Letter. I don’t remember seeing him in that drama. Aw, I should have, but having Kubozuka Yosuke on screen makes it hard to look somewhere else.

Warning: Enormous picture after the jump.
