Another one of those CASB heart attacks.

There are going to be a few days during your CASB years when you think you’ve had enough.

Today is one of those days.

Enough, enough, enough of this crap… I hate consolidations, foreign currency translations, and fracking hedging.

Who cares about the equity method and significantly influenced investments.  Why are they making me write a software recommendation memo again? Didn’t I just write one two modules ago!!!???

Arghhhhh…Why am I procrastinating, even?   I want to sleep…sleep is the most beautiful thing ever bestowed to human beings.

Why do I have a manager who thinks something can be done in an hour?  I am not friggin’ superman, you know.  You are, but I am not. Why do you have to be so frackin’ cute though – my only consolidation…CONSOLID…CONSOLATION.  Whew, that was close.  Frackin’ consolidations.  Now, I can’t even type consolation.

I. hate. CASB. very friggin mucho.

I’ll probably write that sentence down a few more million times till I reach the finish line.

Pardon my nervous break-down.

That still hasn’t calmed me down, though.  Maybe I should try banging my laptop against the wall.

It’s good and healthy to let it out. And if anything, you should feel good about experiencing this now rather than a day before the UFE or something.

The UFE is of course a painfully artificial experience, but that means there are ways to learn to cope with it.

And the ultimate coping mechanism is writing about the pain itself. Doesn’t that feel better?

    Hi,

I’m a former Big 4 auditor and I just recently launched the website http://www.myCAsite.com, which is an online portal dedicated to helping university students interested in becoming CAs.

The site has 6 bloggers who currently share their articles on the site (include Krupo, Jenny Cao, Big4Bound, Last Year’s File, Neil McIntyre and I Want to Be a CA). It would be great if you also agreed to share you blog posts on the profession. Each post will be unaltered and credited to you. If you would like to see how it works, check out http://www.mycasite.com/for_web/viewforum.php?f=9.

The purpose of the site is to provide as much information and as many perspectives as possible to students. Also, I believe that our traffic, which is about 100 hits per day and we’re only in week 2, will help benefit your readership.

If you’re interested, feel free to email me at stefano@myCAsite.com. It would be great to have you as a contributor.

    Thanks

    Stefano

Oh, the site has a lot of articles about accounting, the UFE, tax, etc. that would be really useful for your studying. Even though the UFE is next week, I think that these would serve as great summaries. Plus, I really tried to write the articles to be as simple to understand as possible, so, if you are having any difficulties with a subject, this should provide you with some relief.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks Stefano, I just checked out the site. Wow, this is brilliant. Thanks for putting in the effort creating this site. A lot of us students would really find this helpful. As for contributing, I don’t mind as long as you don’t mind my whiny posts. They’re not as elegant and well-written as those other big names you’ve put down…so yah…I’m kind of embarrassed. But, by all means…go ahead.

I like whiny articles. It lets other students know that they are not alone in their frustrations. Not all CAs are uber-professionals. Most are normal people with normal emotions.

Now you’re going to get it – the ICAO won’t be too pleased with you undermining their upcoming uber-accounting-commando campaign.

But seriously, so-called ‘whiny’ articles like this rock. :)

I think it’s perfectly normal to feel a little overloaded towards the end. I usually used the gym to drain myself of all that tension; grinding your teeth, muttering things like “consol” and “ARO”, and lifting weights 5 pounds too heavy help you channel your stress in a constructive way. On the plus side, you’ll be done with all of that soon and your mind will relieve the pressure by deleting most of what you’ve learned.

Hello! Just want to give you a shout out of support and whatnot. I got hooked on all manner of dramas a couple of years back, and then happened across your blog. You’ve helped me find some real favorites, so I thank you. I do miss your posts, but I get the real life thing. Look forward to your return, whenever that may be. In the meantime, good luck!
